Friday, July 10th is Cow Appreciation Day (who knew?), and Chick-fil-A wants you to dress like a cow for a free combo meal. They even have printable ears, nose, etc. for you to make your own costume out of. If you come in partial cow attire (headband, hat, vest, or purse), you can get a free entree. Sounds like fun. I guess I need some cow fabric to make a headband out of. :) Go here for more information and to print out the costume pieces. Thanks, The "Cent"sible Sawyer!

This Friday, print out this coupon and you can get a free light smoothie at Orange Julius. Sounds yummy! Thanks, Money Saving Mom!
European Wax Center is giving a free Bikini Line, Eyebrow, or Under Arm wax for its first time customers. Go here for more details, and here for locations (there are two in Austin!) I haven't waxed my eyebrows in quite a while because it's so expensive, so this is perfect! Thanks, Money Saving Mom!

I finished my quilt top (week 4) for the Old Red Barn Co. quilt-along! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. So far, so good. I bought my batting and backing, so now I'm ready to make my quilt sandwich and do some quilting (week 5). I'm definitely going to do some practicing first, though, because I am scared to death of this part!

I forgot to write about these two small projects that I did a few weeks ago, so here they are.

Simple ironing board cover, made from this tutorial. Really easy and much better than the last one we had! (I would have used a much brighter and flowery print, but my husband objected to having to iron on a board that is pink. Silly husbands.)

A couple of pincushions out of scraps of my quilt-along quilt material. These will be used for my long quilting pins. :)

Another good week! How exciting! I got:
  • 2 Aveeno Body Wash, on clearance for $3.75 each with one $1 newspaper coupon, along with
  • 2 Aveeno Shampoo/Conditioners, $6.50 each with two $2 newspaper coupons and $10 ECBs for buying $20 of Aveeno = $5.50 for all four products
  • 3 Schick Quattro Trimmer razors, $7.99 each with three $4 newspaper coupons and $3 ECBs each = $3 total
  • 1 Crest Pro-health, $2.99 with one $1 P&G mailer coupon and $2 ECBs = free
  • 2 newspapers (only one shown, had to take one back because it was missing the coupons!)
Net cost: $13.02. The razors will go on eBay and should make up the net cost easily. Those things sell so well! I really need to bring all of my coupons with me, because I could have used another Aveeno coupon when I found the body wash half price. I'll learn eventually! :) My ECBs didn't print for the Aveeno, so I'm going to have to call to get that fixed. Now I'm off to put stuff on eBay....

I finally got to CVS today after being sick all week. I was totally surprised to find everything that I had wanted was still in stock! I got:
  • 2 Frosted Mini-Wheats, $4.39, B1G1F with two $1 Vocalpoint coupons = $2.39 for both
  • 2 Dawn dish soaps, $1 each with two $0.50 P&G mailer coupons and $1 ECB for buying two = free
  • 1 Men's Rogaine 3-pack, $39.99 with one $10 internet coupon, one $5 CVS coupon, and $5 ECBs = $20
  • 1 Gillette Fusion razor, $7.99 with one $4 newspaper coupon and $4 ECBs = free
Net cost: $22.37. The Rogaine and razor will be posted on eBay, and I should be able to make more than $20 on the Rogaine to make a profit. Now I'm off to plan tomorrow's trip...

Last week was not only my husband's birthday but also a friend at school's birthday as well. I asked her to look through my free patterns list to see if there was anything she liked, and she requested a laptop sleeve out of a geometric print. She's not a fan of pink, which seems to be the overwhelming color in my stash, but I found this great blue and green dot print at Hobby Lobby that I thought was perfect. I used this laptop sleeve tutorial by Oh, Frannson! for Sew, Mama, Sew!, and it turned out really well. I had no idea what to expect since this was my first time using fusible fleece, but it's a lot sturdier than I would have imagined I could make at home. Yay! I really liked the pattern and would definitely recommend it. She'll get to try it out today and make sure it fits (fingers crossed). (Edit: It fits perfectly.) Happy Birthday, Andrea! And I got to use my walking foot for the first time. That thing is loud. But it sure does work. :)

And in other news, remember the Sew, Mama, Sew! giveaway day?

I won!

I actually won two (I know, crazy!) but they were both from blogs overseas, so I just now got the first one in the mail yesterday. This giveaway was ran by Lisa of The Princess & the Monkey, located in Australia. The wrapping was too cute.

And the clutch is even cuter. I really love the embroidery in the bottom corner that mirrors the pattern in the print. Thanks, Lisa! I love it!
