Wow, can you believe it's September already? This year is going by so fast! I've still got one more trip to CVS planned, but here's what I got so far:
  • 1 CVS brand Cocoa butter, $0.99, with one free item CVS coupon = free
  • 1 Lifelock trial kit, $2.99 with $2.99 ECBs = free
  • 1 8-pack Schick for Women disposable razors, $6.99 with one $3 newspaper coupon and $4 ECBs = free
  • 2 Crest toothpaste, $3.49 each with two $1 P&G mailer coupons and $2.50 ECBs each = free
  • 2 Schick Quattro for Women 4-pack blade refills, $10.89 each, B1G1F, with two $4 newspaper coupons = $3
No newspapers this week since there were no coupons (holiday weekend). Total net cost: $2.98. I paid with a gift card I got from saving up points on MyPoints (woohoo!). I'm going to go back for more razor blade refills once I get one more coupon from a friend (thanks Shan!). If anyone wants the Lifelock trial kit, let me know. It will go in the charity bin if no one wants it.

YTD OOP: $248.99
YTD Savings: $2776.07
YTD eBay sales: $111.79

  • What is a lifelock kit? Also, what are ECB’s?

I love reading your posts….saving money is so much fun. I used the 1.00 off (doubled at my market) for Magic Erasers…which ended up costing me 18 cents for two. I think those are the most fun coupons…doubled :)

  • Lifelock is an identity theft protection service; the item I bought is a 30-day trial cd.

ECBs are “coupons” that print at the end of your receipt at CVS that act as cash on any future purchase (excluding gift cards, alcohol, and a few other things of that nature). I subtract how much I earn in ECBs from each item since to me, they are handing me back cash when they hand me an ECB. Here’s a good explanation of how ECBs work:

I agree that saving money is fun! The only store near me that doubles coupons is Randall’s, which doesn’t seem to have too many great deals. I wish I had a Kroger or Kmart nearby! If you have any other questions, let me know! CVS shopping is fun!
