I had quite a fun and busy weekend over Labor Day, which included:

some painting on walls (thank you to my mom, dad, and brother for helping),

and on some picture frames. (Yes, I know there is nothing in them. I'm going to wait and see if I can't get some free 8x10 prints of my peach tree pictures that I took in the spring.)

Some really amazing food,

and the sewing of some quick curtains. The blinds that we took down to paint the stairwell apparently were always too big for the window and wouldn't go back in without putting a hole in the drywall. But they were ugly, pastel, vertical blinds. So I'm not sad to see them go. If only that light had been broken also....

Lastly, some additions to my craft wall: a bulletin board (which will be covered in fabric eventually), a thread rack (which will be painted in the future), and a fabric-covered frame. Lookin' good.

It feels great to have gotten so much done. If only every weekend was this productive!

The FTD® Precious Heart™ Bouquet

Tomorrow (9-9) is Good Neighbor Day. In honor of this holiday, FTD is giving away free bouquets of flowers (while supplies last), "encouraging all neighbors to help create a friendlier, more caring and compassionate world through the gift of flowers." You are encouraged to keep one flower for yourself and give the rest away. What a great idea! There aren't any florists in my local area participating (unless you want to drive to Temple!), but here is the list of florists that are participating. Hopefully you're near one! Thanks, Coupon Cravings!

Wow, can you believe it's September already? This year is going by so fast! I've still got one more trip to CVS planned, but here's what I got so far:
  • 1 CVS brand Cocoa butter, $0.99, with one free item CVS coupon = free
  • 1 Lifelock trial kit, $2.99 with $2.99 ECBs = free
  • 1 8-pack Schick for Women disposable razors, $6.99 with one $3 newspaper coupon and $4 ECBs = free
  • 2 Crest toothpaste, $3.49 each with two $1 P&G mailer coupons and $2.50 ECBs each = free
  • 2 Schick Quattro for Women 4-pack blade refills, $10.89 each, B1G1F, with two $4 newspaper coupons = $3
No newspapers this week since there were no coupons (holiday weekend). Total net cost: $2.98. I paid with a gift card I got from saving up points on MyPoints (woohoo!). I'm going to go back for more razor blade refills once I get one more coupon from a friend (thanks Shan!). If anyone wants the Lifelock trial kit, let me know. It will go in the charity bin if no one wants it.

I greatly dislike paying for calendars. This year I got all of mine for free from various places online, and I'll try to do the same for 2010. Here's my first one for the year! Go here to get a free 2010 wildlife calendar from Wildlife Forever. The pictures look amazing! Thanks, Wylie Mom!

Wear an item (hat, shirt, etc.) from your favorite sports team today to Chick-fil-A and get a free chicken sandwich! (Preferably an Aggie shirt, but if you don't have one, I'll let it slide. Just this once. :) ) I did this last year and it was quite popular! Thanks, Keeping the Kingdom First!
