CVS, Week of 3-28

I love free toothpaste! This week I bought:

  • 1 CVS body wash, $1.99 with one free item CVS email coupon = free
  • 1 Crest toothpaste, $2.99 with one $1 newspaper coupon and $2 ECBs = free
  • 2 newspapers

Net cost: $4.01. It certainly wasn’t an exciting week, but there were a lot of coupons in the paper, which is always nice. I didn’t have to spend any money out of pocket, either!

CVS, Week of 3-21

CVS emailed me a $5 off $30 purchase coupon this week, and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to use it. There wasn’t much that I wanted, but I took advantage of some other items being cheap after coupons to make it work for me. I bought:

  • 4 various Airwick iMotion starter kits, $4.99 each with four $4 newspaper coupons = $4
  • 1 Crest Glide floss (love this stuff!), $3.99 with one $0.75 newspaper coupon and $2 ECBs = $1.25
  • 1 Colgate toothpaste, $3.99 with one $1 All You magazine coupon and $3.99 ECBs = profit of $1
  • 2 newspapers
  • One $5 off $30 CVS email coupon
  • One $1 bag tag ECB (fourth scan)

Net cost: $2.29. Not too bad! I’ll donate the Air Wick items along with everything else I’ve collected over the last few months. I also did a survey for CVS (more information on joining the CVS survey panel here) and earned $5 ECBs! Yay! Looks like I’m doing pretty good with my OOP goal for this year so far. I’m so excited! Now I just need to work on my eBay goal…

CVS, Week of 3-14

Not too interesting of a week, but it got better when the coupon machine gave me a coupon for Glade Fragrance Collection candles, which I was already planning on buying! I bought:

  • 2 Covergirl Outlast Lipsticks, $8 each with one B1G1F newspaper coupon, one $1 newspaper coupon, and $3 ECBs each = $1
  • 2 Glade soy candles, $6 each with two $2 internet coupons, one $3 CVS CRT coupon, and $4 ECBS = $1
  • 2 newspapers
  • One $5 off $30 purchase CVS email coupon

Net cost: $1. Not too bad! I have a ton of these candles now, but I love them so much, and they won’t be cheap forever!

  Garden, Before

It’s that time again! We’ve had beautiful weather down here in Texas. It’s been 70 degrees recently, with one day that hit 80! I’m definitely glad the cold is gone, and I’m hoping this nice weather lasts a while before the summer hits. (Spring in Texas usually lasts about a week, no kidding. It won’t be long before it’s nice and hot.) This is how my garden started out, neglected during the winter, with dead plants from the fall and lots of weeds. There are a few things in there that were supposed to be – some garlic, onions, and carrots. (Chase says hi.) Now that I think about it, I don’t even remember when I’m supposed to harvest those. They’ve been in the ground since September or October.

Garden, Stage 1

I pulled out the dead plants and the big weeds and buried the rest with some new pretty dirt. I love the way a garden looks when it is prepped for planting. I’ve put down some black trash bags over the dirt to prevent weeds from popping up, and to hopefully fry the weeds I buried under the dirt. My plan is to buy veggie plants next week and get them planted! Now I just have to figure out what to plant...

Peach Blossoms 3

This is seriously my favorite two weeks of the year. Is it bad that my favorite part of my house is a tree in the backyard?

Peach Blossoms 14

I’m so sad that this tree is dying. It’s going to have to be replaced with something that has blooms as beautiful as this whenever the time comes.

Peach Blossoms 17

I need to figure out how to keep the bugs from eating my peaches this year so that we can enjoy them. Mmmm, peach cobbler...

I guess you can tell I've been pretty busy recently. Keeping up with classes and research has been harder than I expected! I haven't been cooking or crafting very much, which is why you haven't seen much of me. There are still some good couponing deals that I want to share with you, so I'm going to start compressing those posts and omitting pictures so that I can still get them to you. I promise to get back to normal in May once classes are over!

CVS, Week of 3-7

What a great week at CVS! I found everything I wanted and had no problems with any of my coupons. I bought:

  • 4 Stayfree packs, $3.69 each with two B1G1F newspaper coupons, two $1 newspaper coupons, and $2 ECBs each = profit of $2.62
  • 2 Cascades, $5.97 with two $1 mailer coupons and $1 ECB = $2.97
  • 2 Oral-B toothbrushes, $4 each with two $0.75 newspaper coupons and $4 ECBs each = profit of $1.50
  • 1 Gillette Fusion razor, $8.99 with one $4 newspaper coupon and $4 ECBs = $1
  • 1 Nivea lip care, $2.99 with one $1 newspaper coupon and $2.99 ECBs = profit of $1
  • 2 newspapers
  • One $4 off a $20 CVS purchase RecycleBank coupon

Net cost: profit of $0.99. Yay! Looks like it’s time to take a box over to the local food pantry – seriously one of the best parts of couponing.

CVS, Week of 2-28

Quite an uneventful week at CVS. I bought:

  • 1 Softsoap body wash, $4.99 with one $1 All You magazine coupon and $4 ECBS = free
  • 1 Aviva Accu-Chek glucose monitor, $14.99 with one $10 newspaper coupon and $5 ECBs = free
  • 2 newspapers (not pictured)
  • 1 $5 off a $15 CVS CRT coupon

Net cost: profit of $0.85! I love getting newspapers for free! I finally used up all of my gift cards from the pharmacy (those things lasted a long time). I realized that my out-of-pocket cost shouldn’t include my pharmacy gift cards, so I’ll start subtracting that out to be more accurate.
