CVS, Week of 6-27-2

CVS, Week of 6-27-1

Finally, an interesting week! I had to make two trips, but I bought:

  • 4 Stayfree pads, $3.79 each, B1G1F with two B1G1F newspaper coupons = free
  • 2 John Frieda shampoo & conditioner, $5 each with two $3 newspaper coupons and $3 ECBS = $1
  • 3 Betty Crocker Warm Delights, $0.88 each with three $0.75 newspaper coupons = $0.39
  • 4 Pretzel M&Ms, $0.89 each, B1G1F with two B1G1F newspaper coupons = free
  • 2 newspapers

Net cost: $5.51. If only I had a CVS coupon to go with everything! I’ve never tried John Frieda products before, so I’m excited to see how well they work. And brownies for $0.13 each? Yes please.

Remember last year's Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A? It's back! Friday, July 9th is Cow Appreciation Day, and Chick-fil-A wants you to dress like a cow for a free combo meal. If you come in partial cow attire (headband, hat, vest, or purse), you can get a free entree. Go here for more information. Thanks, For The Mommas!

Go here to print a $0.50 coupon on a Del Monte pineapple. Coupons for fresh fruit don't come around often, so hurry before they are gone! Thanks, Money Saving Mom!

CVS, Week of 6-20

Pretty boring week! I bought:

  • 2 Colgate Total, $2.99 each with two $1 newspaper coupons and $2 ECBs each = free
  • 2 newspapers

Net cost: $4. I did have the right amount in ECBs so that I didn’t pay any out of pocket, which was nice!

Quilt Fabrics
Two good friends of mine are getting married today. Some girls and I conspired to make them a quilt as a surprise gift.

Quilt Front
We didn’t want it to be girly, plus the bride isn’t a fan of pink, so we picked the blues and greens from Patty Young’s Mezzanine line for the front…

Quilt Back
and Ta Dot in Sea for the backing. Their wedding is on a cruise, so these colors seemed very fitting. We quilted waves using our local long-arm quilting machine.

Quilt Embroidery
One of the girls who contributed does embroidery, so she whipped up this little panel that we appliquéd to the back of the quilt. Another girl picked out the Chinese saying, which is used frequently for weddings, and translates to “As we hold hands, we go through life together forever.”

Quilt Binding
The binding is Heather Bailey’s Sway from her Pop Garden line. So cute, and such a good match!

Each girl contributed by designing, machine sewing, ironing, quilting, embroidering, or hand-sewing. This was such a fun gift to make!

Congratulations, Justin and Andrea. We’re so excited for you both!

CVS, Week of 6-6

I didn’t plan on buying this much originally, but the first CVS I went to only had one newspaper left (at 11 in the morning!), so I had to go to another store and was able to use coupons from the first paper on more items. My first receipt had a $5 off a $15 purchase coupon, so I made a profit on my second transaction! I bought:

  • 1 Gillette Gamer razor, on clearance for $4.99 with one $4 newspaper coupon = $1
  • 2 Rolaids chews, $3.99 each with one $4 off 2 newspaper coupon and $4 ECBS = free
  • 2 Nature’s Bounty fish oil, $11.49 each, B1G1F and two $1 newspaper coupons = $9.50
  • 3 Powerbars, $0.99 each with $0.99 ECBs each = free
  • 2 newspapers
  • One $5 off a $15 purchase CVS CRT coupon

Net cost: $9.46. Better than I expected! I haven’t been too impressed with the deals recently, so I might not be doing a ton of CVS shopping in the next few weeks. Let’s hope the sales get better soon!
