Pinwheel Quilt Top

A good friend of mine saw my table runner and liked it so much that she commissioned me to make a quilt for her adorable baby boy. She picked out Aqua and Brown Lily & Will II by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda; isn't it gorgeous? (By the way, I love Fat Quarter Shop. Because I'm located close to their headquarters, the fabric was at my house literally the next day. Awesome!)

Pinwheel Quilt Top

We picked out pinwheels for the top, and I'm so glad we did. Even though this was my first pinwheel quilt, it's essentially the same process as for my zig-zag quilt, just laid out differently. I really am loving the look of this; pinwheels are SO much fun!

Go here to sign up for free admission to a public garden for National Public Gardens Day, May 6th from Better Homes and Gardens. I've never been to our local public garden, so I'm excited to be able to visit it for free! Thanks, For The Mommas!

Head over to Lowe's tomorrow, 4/23, to get a free tree in celebration of Earth Day. Thanks, For The Mommas!

We've been harvesting peas like crazy.

12 ounces so far, and plenty more to come.

The bush green beans are flowering gorgeous purple flowers, and the pole beans are climbing away. They're actually trying to escape the yard!

I've been watching for tomatoes for a while now; lots of flowers, but no tomatoes, until now. Three tiny little tomatoes on my Royal Chico plant. Finally!

Head over to The Picky Apple to win some bias tape handmade by yours truly. There are going to be TWO winners! Woohoo! The giveaway ends Monday at noon, so hurry over!

Yarn Bombing

I found this fun yarn bombing on campus a few weeks ago. I can't even imagine how long this must have took. I mean, look at how far out these trees go:

Yarn Bombing

CVS, Week of 3-27

I messed up a little this week because a few of my coupons expired, and the register wouldn’t take my Skintimate coupon. It didn’t end up to bad, though. I bought:

  • 1 Physician’s Formula foundation, $11.99 with one $6 CVS CRT coupon and $7 ECBs = profit of $1
  • 1 Skintimate shave gel, $3.49 with $2.50 ECBs = $1
  • 2 Halls cough drops, $1.87 each with $1 ECB each = $1.74
  • $1 ECB for my fourth CVS bag tag scan

Net cost: $0.87. Definitely could have been worse with my coupon mishap!
